Moto America Result From Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca

Monterey, CA - July 19, 2015 – It doesn’t matter if track conditions are dry, wet, or somewhere in-between, four-time and defending AMA Superbike Champion Josh Hayes always focuses on the task at hand, which is to win races. And, that he did, in MotoAmerica Superbike Race 1 at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.

Starting from the pole aboard his #1 Monster Energy/Graves/Yamaha YZF-R1, Josh got a perfect jump off the line and quickly took his spot at the front of the field where he went to work clicking off consistent laps, which enabled him to lap the field all the way up to fourth place and also pull almost a 19-second gap to second place by the time he took the checkered flag.

In Race 2, four-time and defending AMA Superbike Champion Josh Hayes, who was in the lead earlier in the race, rounded out the podium in third place.

GEICO Suzuki rider Chris Ulrich finished the weekend strong by taking two top-five finishes in the Superbike class at the GEICO MotoAmerica AMA/FIM North American Motorcycle Road Racing Championship event on Sunday at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. Ulrich also finished in the top 10 in the Superbike/Superstock 1000 races. Ulrich ended up fifth in Superbike and seventh overall in the first 23-lap race. He backed that up with a fifth in Superbike and 10th overall in the second race, which was shortened to 18 laps.
