RS Taichi dominated the podium at the 2017 Daytona 200, with RS Taichi riders placing first and second at the prestigious race.

Daytona Beach, FL – March 18, 2017, the top two finishers were proudly clad in RS Taichi suits and gloves. Danny Eslick and Michael Barnes, who placed first and second respectively in this year’s race, entrusted themselves to the protective ability of RS Taichi’s gear as they fought for 57 grueling laps.

The Daytona 200 is one of America’s most prestigious motorcycle races, respected as a highly challenging endurance race that has been held every year since its first race on Daytona Beach in 1937 (with the exception of 1942-1946 due to WWII). While the course has undergone numerous changes over the 76 years of its existence, including being moved from the beach itself to the Daytona International Speedway and undergoing multiple track adjustments, the race itself took over two hours to complete this year on the 3.15-mile course. Only the likes of such legends as Giacomo Agostini, Kevin Schwantz and Kenny Roberts have graced the podium at the Daytona 200.

As motorcycle technology has advanced to allow riders to go faster, lean farther and race more competitively, motorcycle gear manufacturers have had to follow suit to meet the constantly intensifying protective needs of riders. RS Taichi has earned the respect and trust of racers worldwide because of their dedication to constantly improving the protective quality of their gear through extensive research and development.

Michael Barnes took pole position in this year’s Daytona 200 qualifying and 2017 was Eslick’s third year winning the Daytona 200, making him one of only six racers to win the race more than three times in their career. Danny and Michael proudly choose to wear RS Taichi motorcycle gear.
