On 16,Oct. WGP 15th round in Australia , Tomoyoshi Koyama finished 2nd and got up the podium for the first time in WGP.
Italian riders Mattia Pasini and Marco Simoncelli tussled throughout the race with KTM’s Kallio and Talmacsi, but Koyama, and Spaniards Hector Faubel and Angel Rodriguez, also had their say in the dice for second position which went to the very last corner.
Second at the beginning of the last lap, Kallio was quickly demoted to fourth by Simoncelli and Pasini, before going wide at the hairpin to lose more ground. The Finn eventually took fifth behind Pasini while a last-corner dash saw Koyama move up to snatch second on the line, beating Simoncelli by just 0.002s to secure his first ever podium finish. |
