Koyama splendid second in Malaysian 125cc Grand Prix

Koyama kept his best for last when he leapt ahead of the group battling for second place. It was the 24-year-oldfs sixth podium finish of the season and he now has a solid grip on third place in the seasonfs standings with a 15-point-lead over Czech rider Lukas Pesek in fourth position.

Koyama said it had been a difficult race with a happy ending. He said he had experienced some problems with the front tyre, with the front closing in some corners. gAt one fast corner in the middle of the race I even ran off the track and almost crashed,h he said. gLuckily I was able to continue and then I tried to change my riding style by putting more weight on the front. I could push again in the closing stages and it was possible to get a podium finish again.h
